Gilles ELKAIM

From Finland’s North Cape to the Bering Straight, from May 2000 to April 2004, Gilles Elkaim has pulled off an astonishing accomplishment: covering 10,000 kilometres by kayak and dog sled among the Siberian Arctic coast, alone… Elkaim’s aim was to experience the migrations of the Siberian Arctic people under the same conditions they did. Camping at 50 degrees below zero, the Arktica expedition is truly impressive. Elkaim walks in the footsteps of Jack London’s world. Arktica is a unique document about the timeless part of the world that is post-Soviet Siberia.

416 pages Publication in France: October 2005 The publication of Arktika will be accompanied by a documentary film shown on public television in a series of five films for the “Voyage” network; and many press conferences world-wide.
